For this winter camp, one brave parent took three scouts to Lawhorne Scouting Base in Molena, GA for the week.  Day 1: All were up bright and early to get on the road by 5:15 a.m. to ensure that they made it to camp to check in on time and along their journey they stopped for lunch at Dowdell Knobb for a picnic and they managed to find an Eagle Project.  Once they arrived at the camp, they were all able to explore the camp, see some local wildlife and they even met Lord Baden-Powell as well as Mr. Allen sent them a care package of flamingos and smores.  Day: 2 the scouts volunteered to serve breakfast, started their merit badge classes and then hid the flamingos along the nature trail for other campers to find.  One scout even braved the polar plunge in a lake that was 45 degrees!  Day 3: started off quite differently than the rest as they had a 4:00 a.m. alarm go off because there were tornadoes in the area to which they all did an amazing job of seeking shelter and then rallying on to complete their classes for the day.  Day 4: the scouts wrapped up their classes where overall, they earned 15 merit badges!  Lastly, they got to enjoy the closing campfire where one of the scouts got on stage to dance the macarena.  Day 5: they checked out and it was time for them to head home to Florida.  But wait, there’s more…they had time for a couple more adventures on their way home and they stopped to hike at Providence Canyon as well as had lunch at Buc-ee’s,
