For this campout, the troop and adventure crew teamed up to hike the Appalachian Trail, which to some may be daunting, but to those that participated, it was a great way to not only show their endurance but their dedication to this program as well. Just to put this hike into perspective, the troop and adventure crew hiked over 70 miles within 8 days, 52 of which were along the Appalachian Trail; an amazing achievement without a doubt as this hike was strenuous with drastic changes in elevation throughout their journey. With that said, the troop and adventure crew got the opportunity to see some amazing views, make more amazing memories together as well as brush up on their camping and hiking skills as they spotted four bears and two rattlesnakes during their time in the woods. Thankfully, the only injuries that they came home with were a few swollen knees, sore ankles and one mean bug bite. Overall, this adventure was one to put on the books.
